What We Do

Provide personalized monthly mentoring for students & young professionals. We build a program around your needs while offering guidance in our core pillars (1) Healthy Habits & Mental Fitness; (2) Next-Gen Professional Prep; and (3) Everyday Money Mindset.

Why We Are

After years as a People Analyst, Educator, and DEI Advocate, our founder Aly Decolati saw firsthand how today’s schools fall short of preparing students for real life. With advanced degrees in Education, Data Analytics, and Marketing, Aly’s research and lived experience revealed three major gaps:

  1. Healthy Habits & Mindset: Schools don’t teach executive functioning or confidence-building skills.
  2. Modern Tech Skills: Students miss out on hands-on experience with the latest technology, like AI.
  3. Financial Know-How: There’s little guidance on money management for today’s economy, including the realities of inflation and digital currencies.

Wa‘a Collective was created to fill these gaps—empowering the next generation with the skills, mindset, and confidence they need to thrive.

Our Inspiration

Inspired by our founder's Filipino wayfinding ancestors and the resilience of Kanaka Maoli Peoples. Named in ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i, for the children of Hawai'i i and anyone seeking real-world skills, confidence, and community.

The Wa’a (canoe) appears to those with great changes on the horizon. These may be some type of journey or unanticipated change in direction. A safe canoe journey requires preparation and patience, for you can only go as fast as the winds will take you. We’re here to help you notice where you are and who is on the journey with you, guiding your focus on the direction you wish to go next, charting your course, and finding the winds to carry you.

Our Philosophy

In a world where traditional education, college degrees, and even the value of money can’t guarantee security or well-being, Wa‘a Collective fills the gap—offering mentorship, modern skills, and lifelong support for the next generation. The world we live in is evolving faster than our systems. We can no longer rely on the path rolled out for us. We have to create our own. We blend modern coaching with the wisdom of mindful navigation—preparation, patience, and awareness. Like voyagers, we help you notice where you are, who’s with you, and how to move forward, at your own pace.

Hi, I'm Aly

My Mission

To be the mentor I wish I’d had: someone who listens, guides, and empowers you to chase your own dreams—not blindly follow the path the westernized world demands.

Wa’a Collective—lifelong mentorship platform inspired by my wayfinding Filipino ancestors & the resilient spirit of Kanaka Maoli Peoples' voyages on their Hawaiian canoes. My Kumu taught me when a wa'a (canoe) is seen on the horizon, it's signals the start of a great journey. I've seen the wa'a and I'm guide you in charting your course and paddle alongside you.

My path has been anything but linear:

  • I hold a Master of Science in Education;
  • A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a dual focus in Data Analytics and Economic Marketing;
  • Four years teaching in public school classrooms with the Americorps, Teach For America, and the Hawai'i Department of Education in the Kingdom of Hawai'i;
  • Four years navigating the world of private industry at a 124-year-old innovative industrial corporation.

Through these experiences, I’ve witnessed the real gaps between what students learn in school and what they actually need to thrive in the real world. After serving with AmeriCorps and Teach For America during the pandemic, I watched my students face unprecedented challenges—and now, as they step into high school, I feel called to support them in new ways.

I realized I couldn’t go back to the traditional classroom. So, I decided to create something different—a space where mentorship goes beyond textbooks, where students and young adults can discover their strengths, learn real-life skills, and chart their own unique paths.
